Twitter shadowban checker: do your posts show in X search?

Enter an X username. We load the account's latest posts, then search X for them, and show whether they appear.

What it does

The checker runs two lookups. First it loads the account's profile and its latest posts. Then it runs an X search for from:username, sorted by latest, and compares the two.

If the profile has recent posts but the search returns none, that is a sign of a search ban. If the posts show in search, your account is searchable. Each post is marked "in search" or "not in search", with its likes, replies, reposts and views.

This test checks search visibility only. Reply deboosting and other limits on reach cannot be seen from outside the account, so no outside tool can confirm them.

Why it matters

"Shadowban" is the informal name for limits that make an account harder to find without telling the owner. When posts disappear from search, people looking for your brand or a product name on X do not find what you posted.

Knowing is the first step: a missing search result is a fact you can track over time, instead of guessing why a post got fewer views.

How to use the result

  • Posts show in search: your search visibility is fine. Low reach has another cause, often the content or the time of posting.
  • Posts do not show: run the check again in a few days. One test is a snapshot.
  • Review X's rules and your recent activity, and check your account for any notices from X.
  • Watch engagement by views on your latest posts to see whether reach recovers.

Questions

What is a shadowban on X?

An informal term for limits that reduce how visible an account's posts are without a notice. X does not use the word; its rules describe limiting the visibility of some posts.

What does this checker test?

Whether the account's recent posts appear in X search for from:username. It cannot see reply ranking, timeline reach or other internal limits.

Can I check a protected account?

No. Posts on a protected account are not public, so they cannot be loaded or searched from outside.

Why did my posts not show in search?

It can be a search limit on the account. It can also be timing: very recent posts may take a while to show in search. Run the check again later before drawing conclusions.

How many checks can I run?

Three checks a day from one connection.
