Free tool · TikTok engagement rate calculator
TikTok engagement rate calculator: by views and by followers.
Enter a public TikTok username and see how its latest videos engage, measured against views and against followers.
What it does
The calculator reads a public profile's latest videos (pinned videos are left out) and shows two rates:
- By views: the average of (likes + comments + shares) / views for each video.
- By followers: the average of (likes + comments + shares) / followers.
It also shows followers, videos analyzed, average views, likes, comments and shares, the best video with a link, and how often the account posts. Prefer to type the numbers yourself? Switch to "Enter numbers".
Why it matters
On TikTok, most views come from the For You feed, not from followers. A video can reach far beyond the account's audience, so the by-views rate is the fairer measure of how well each video lands. The by-followers rate shows how much activity the account creates relative to its size, which helps when comparing creators.
How to use the result
- Look at the best video and what it did differently: the first seconds, the format, the topic.
- Compare videos by the by-views rate. A video with fewer views and a high rate may deserve another push.
- When vetting a creator, check that views and engagement are steady across videos, not carried by one hit.
- Run the check again after you change your content to see if the rate moves.
Questions
How is TikTok engagement rate calculated?
There are two common ways: engagement divided by views, and engagement divided by followers. We show both. Engagement here is likes plus comments plus shares.
Which rate should I use?
By views to judge how well each video performs, since most views come from people who do not follow the account. By followers to compare accounts with each other.
Why can the by-followers rate be very high?
A video that reaches many non-followers can collect more likes than the account has followers, which pushes the rate up.
Does it count saves?
No. We count likes, comments and shares, the interactions shown on every public video.
How many checks can I run?
Five username checks a day from one connection. The manual mode has no limit.
